The Big Five personality, decision-makingAbstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between the Big Five personality with decision making. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that the Big Five (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to New Experience, Neuroticisms) can be used as a predictor to predict the decision to choose majors in the SMK PABAKU STABAT. Subjects used in this study were 85 students of SMK Pabaku who were selected by sampling jenuh. Data were obtained from the scale to measure the Big Five personality and decision-making. The calculation is done by means of testing requirements analysis (assumption testing) that consists of a test for normality of distribution and relationships linearity test. Mehtod of Data Analysis used was multiple regression analysis through SPSS 17 for Windows. Results of data analysis showed that thea correlation coefficient is 0.682 with p value 0.002 (p < 0,05). This indicates that suggests that the Big Five personality can be used as predictors to predict decision making 29.8 percent. Results of this study showed that of the five Big Five personality, one having positive and significant correlation is the dimension of Openness to New Experience which contributes 17.1 percent of decision making factors and the rest are influenced by other factors which are not examined. From these results it can be concluded that the hypothesis stating that the Big Five personality (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to New Experience, Neuroticisms) here can be used as a predictor to predict the decision to choose majors in the SMK Pabaku is acceptable.
