Authorship Criteria
1. Introduction
JUSIKOM: Jurnal Sistem Informasi dan Ilmu Komputer, published by Universitas Prima Indonesia, is committed to fair, transparent, and accountable authorship. This policy sets out who qualifies as an author of a manuscript submitted to the journal, in line with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the journal's Publication Ethics statement.
2. Criteria for Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the study. To be listed as an author, a person must meet all of the following conditions:
- Made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data, including the development of systems, algorithms, or models;
- Drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
- Approved the final version of the manuscript to be submitted and published;
- Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions about its accuracy or integrity are appropriately investigated and resolved.
3. Contributors Who Are Not Authors
Individuals who do not meet the criteria above should not be listed as authors. Those who have participated in certain aspects of the research, such as providing technical assistance, general supervision, access to facilities or data, language editing, or funding, should be recognized in the Acknowledgement section of the manuscript, with their permission.
4. Unacceptable Authorship Practices
- Ghost authorship: omitting a person who made a significant contribution to the work.
- Guest or gift authorship: listing a person who did not contribute substantially, for example because of seniority, position, or personal relationship.
- Unauthorized authorship: listing a person as an author without their knowledge or consent.
- The use of artificial intelligence tools as an author. Such tools cannot take responsibility for the work, so they cannot be listed as authors. Any use of AI tools in preparing the manuscript should be disclosed in the manuscript.
5. Responsibilities of the Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal during submission, peer review, and publication. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors, and no inappropriate co-authors, are included in the manuscript, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version and have agreed to its submission for publication.
6. Changes to Authorship
Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be requested in writing by the corresponding author, together with the reason for the change and written confirmation of agreement from all authors, including any author being added or removed. The journal reserves the right to ask for additional information. Changes to authorship after publication are made only in exceptional cases and may be published as a correction.
7. Authorship Disputes
The journal is not able to determine who deserves authorship and does not investigate disputes over authorship. Disputes should be resolved by the authors themselves or by their institution. The journal may suspend the editorial process until the dispute is resolved. Concerns about authorship misconduct will be handled in accordance with the journal's Research Misconduct policy.
