Peer Review
After submitting the manuscript, the editor will review the initial manuscript. The editor will decide whether the manuscript is by the focus and scope and is suitable for submission to the reviewers. The editor also checks the manuscript for high plagiarism or not. The editor can straighten out revisions before sending the manuscript to the reviewers. This initial review usually takes one week.
Manuscripts that have passed the initial review will then be forwarded to the section editor for the section editor to assign one reviewer using the double-masked peer review method.
There are five possible editorial and reviewer decisions.
- Manuscript accepted
- Manuscript revised or improved
- Manuscript resubmitted
- The manuscript should be sent to another publisher
- Manuscript rejected
It usually takes 6-8 weeks to send the results to the first editor.
The time to reach a final decision depends on the number of rounds whether the manuscript is revised or accepted. It usually takes 4 to 2 months for the final decision before publishing.
