Review Process Policy

Jurnal Akuntansi Prima (JAPRI) applies a rigorous and impartial peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of all manuscripts submitted for publication. The review process is designed to maintain high scholarly standards and support the development of knowledge in accounting, finance, taxation, auditing, and related fields.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript is examined by the editorial team to determine its suitability for the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, originality, completeness, and adherence to publication ethics.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external peer review.

2. Peer-Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's originality, research methodology, quality of analysis, validity of findings, clarity of presentation, relevance to the field, and contribution to existing knowledge.

Jurnal Akuntansi Prima uses a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process.

3. Reviewers' Recommendations

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist the editorial team in making publication decisions. The possible recommendations include:

  • Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication without substantial revision.

  • Minor Revision: The manuscript requires limited revisions before a final decision.

  • Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may be subject to further review.

  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's publication standards or is unsuitable for publication.

4. Revision by Authors

Authors whose manuscripts require revision must address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript within the timeframe specified by the editorial team. Authors should provide a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed or, where appropriate, why a suggested change has not been made.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

5. Editorial Decision

The final publication decision is made by the editor or Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' reports, the manuscript's academic quality, its relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with publication ethics.

Acceptance is not guaranteed solely because revisions have been completed. The editorial team retains responsibility for the final decision.

6. Confidentiality and Ethical Standards

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose unpublished information or use material obtained through the review process for personal advantage.

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline assignments when their impartiality may be compromised. All participants are expected to comply with the journal's publication ethics policies.

7. Review Duration

The duration of the review process may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the number of revision rounds required. The editorial team will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the process is conducted efficiently without compromising review quality.

Jurnal Akuntansi Prima is committed to providing a fair, transparent, confidential, and timely review process to maintain the quality and integrity of its published scholarly work.
