PENYULUHAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG APOTEK HIDUP DI KELURAHAN BAGAN DELI , KECAMATAN MEDAN BELAWAN

Abstract

Living pharmacy is a general term used by the community to refer to land planted with various kinds of plants which are believed to be efficacious for treating several kinds of diseases in a traditional way. According to Herminia de Guzman Ladion, a Filipino health expert, research results at the Nation Institute of science and Technology (NIST) prove that medicinal plants are effective in treating various diseases. The method used in the activity goes through a series of stages including counseling/education, training, and mentoring. The community was formed through a number of activities, namely: coordinating with RT administrators, hamlets, and community leaders providing counseling services on living pharmacy, providing education on living pharmacy for the community, giving rewards to the community, giving door prizes after counseling activities, giving rewards to cadres. The results achieved after participating in counseling and community discussions in Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan District were able to find out community knowledge about living pharmacies or live medicinal plants. Like what plants can be used as herbal medicine and also its properties. Living pharmacies are believed to be efficacious for treating several kinds of diseases traditionally.
