Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure greater than 140 mmHg and/or diastolic greater than 90 mmHg on two measurements with an interval of 5 minutes in a state of sufficient rest (quiet). Hypertension is defined by the Joint National Committee on Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure as a pressure higher than 140/90 mmHg (Andrea, 2013). The method used in the activity goes through a series of stages including counseling/education, training, and mentoring. The community was formed through several activities, namely: coordinating with RT administrators, hamlets, and community leaders providing light medical services for hypertensive patients, nutritional checks, personal hygiene, health education about palliative care for hypertensive patients, health education about nutrition and personal hygiene, Giving prizes to hypertension patients, Door prizes after counseling activities, Giving prizes to cadres.
