Abstract

Turmeric (Curcuma domestic) is one of the spices and medicinal plants, the original habitat of this plant covers the region, especially Southeast Asia. This plant then has spread to the Indo-Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and even Africa. The general objective of this extension is to assist the community / government in hatching maternal and infant mortality rates and reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. The method used in the activity goes through a series of stages, including counseling / education, training and mentoring. The community was formed through several activities, namely: coordination with RT administrators, hamlets, and community leaders providing health services about liver damage in obesity, providing health education on prevention of liver damage in obesity, giving rewards to mothers, giving door prizes after health service activities mother, give rewards to cadres. The results achieved by this program start from data collection, deliberations with community leaders to determine how many mothers want to implement prevention of liver damage in obesity with turmeric. Initially, the midwife's service to the community with counseling about the benefits of turmeric in reducing liver damage in obesity in Tanjung Gusta village was rejected by several mothers to attend, but with the collaboration with midwives and cadres in the place, this counseling was finally carried out well. Many came in the counseling. They are given health education about the benefits of turmeric. They were very enthusiastic about asking the midwives about the benefits of turmeric.
