In Indonesia, the prevalence of diabetes has shown a steady upward trend, and Medan City is among the regions with a significant burden, where recent local health reports indicated that diabetes cases accounted for approximately 31.4% of non-communicable diseases in 2022. RSU Royal Prima Medan, as one of the main referral hospitals for T2DM management, receives a large number of patients, many of whom present with complications that adversely affect their quality of life. This study aimed to describe the quality of life among T2DM patients at RSU Royal Prima Medan. A descriptive design was employed involving 35 respondents diagnosed with T2DM, assessed using the Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questionnaire (DQLCTQ), and analyzed through univariate methods. The findings showed that only 31.4% of respondents had a good quality of life (score > 60), while 68.6% reported a poor quality of life (score < 60). The lowest mean scores were observed in the domains of treatment effect, health distress, physical function, energy, personal health perception, and symptom frequency. These results indicate that most patients with T2DM in this setting have suboptimal quality of life. Strengthening patient education, encouraging regular medical consultations, promoting light physical activity, managing stress with family support, and fostering early symptom recognition are essential strategies to improve their overall well-being.
Legisnaria Gulo Irma Irma Priscillia Margarettha Hutagaol Trijunita Sisilia Br. Individuals of all ages can experience chronic kidney disease, and both men and women can be involved. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition characterized by decreased kidney function and kidney damage that develops slowly over a long period of time. To understand self-efficacy to improve the quality of life of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The design of this study was descriptive, involving 57 respondents who had been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The measuring instruments used in the study were the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaires, with ChiSquare bivariate analysis. The results obtained were a relationship between selfefficacy to improve the quality of life of chronic kidney disease patients with a PValue below 0.05, namely 0.015 with univariate and bivariate data analysis. In the univariate analysis, good quality of life was found in 35 respondents (61.4%), poor quality of life was found in 22 respondents (38.6%). Bivariate analysis of optimism was found in 50 respondents (50.0), pessimism was found in 7 respondents (7.0). The characteristics of the respondents showed that most were in the age range of 46–60 years (42.1%), female (56.1%), and had undergone hemodialysis for 5–6 years (35.1%). The level of patient self-efficacy showed that most respondents had optimistic self-efficacy (87.7%), while a small number were pessimistic (12.3%). The majority of patients' quality of life was in the good category (61.4%), and the rest were in the poor category (38.6%). There was a tendency that higher self-efficacy (optimism) was associated with better quality of life. This shows that patient perception and self-confidence play an important role in improving quality of life during hemodialysis.
Honorius Gowasa Margaret Oktaviani Telaumbanua Dinda Nurmala Sari Maharani Maharani Putri Nidar Zega Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-12 2025-08-12 7 2 17 22 Gambaran Kualitas Hidup Pasien Gagal Ginjal Kronis yang menjalani Hemodialisa di RSU Royal Prima Medan https://jurnal.unprimdn.ac.id/index.php/jukeprima/article/view/7495
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a long-term condition characterized by a gradual decline in kidney function due to various underlying causes, which can ultimately progress to end-stage renal disease requiring lifelong renal replacement therapy such as hemodialysis or kidney transplantation. CKD not only affects physical health but also significantly impacts psychological well-being, social relationships, and overall quality of life. This study aimed to describe the quality of life among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Royal Prima Medan Hospital. A quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving 66 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The findings showed that the majority of patients (53%) had a moderate quality of life, while 24.2% reported good quality of life and 22.8% reported poor quality of life. These results suggest that although hemodialysis is a lifelong therapy, many patients are able to adapt and maintain a sufficient level of well-being. Continuous medical care, health education, and psychosocial support are recommended to enhance patients’ quality of life and promote better health outcomes in this population.
Elkana Pramujaya Brahmana Nofi Brina Br Ginting Nyngsih Clara Buulolo Siti Nurkhadijah Hasibuan Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-12 2025-08-12 7 2 23 29 Gambaran Asupan Cairan Pada Pasien Gagal Ginjal Kronik yang Menjalani Terapi Hemodialisis di Ruang Hemodialisa RSU Royal Prima Medan https://jurnal.unprimdn.ac.id/index.php/jukeprima/article/view/7498
Chronic kidney failure is one of the diseases that continues to increase in the percentage and number of cases every year (Suparmo, 2021). One of the functions of the kidneys is to remove waste and toxins through the urine and maintain the balance of fluids and electrolytes in the body, therefore if kidney function is disturbed and damage occurs, fluids, electrolytes, waste and metabolic toxins will accumulate in the body. The fluid that should be excreted through urine is actually retained, so that the body experiences swelling or edema (DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, 2022). GGK patients who have undergone hemodialysis must pay attention to limiting fluid intake so that edema does not occur. Therefore, the researcher is interested in researching the level of compliance in restricting fluid intake in GGK patients at Royal Prima Medan Hospital with a descriptive research method using a questionnaire, and the number of samples used is 30 patients with the results of the analysis of fluid intake restriction compliance of chronic kidney failure clients undergoing HD found that the majority of patients do not comply with fluid intake restrictions. namely 20 patients with a percentage of 70%.
Desi Ratna Sari Sihotang Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-12 2025-08-12 7 2 36 43 Pengaruh Penerapan Relaksasi Benson Terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Hipertensi di Rumah Sakit Royal Prima Medan Tahun 2025 https://jurnal.unprimdn.ac.id/index.php/jukeprima/article/view/7499
If the systolic blood pressure is greater than 140 mmHg or the diastolic blood pressure is greater than 90 mmHg, the condition is referred to as hypertension. Benson relaxation is a non-pharmacological method of reducing blood pressure. The Benson Relaxation Technique is a relaxation technique that regulates breathing and the nervous system. Age-related changes in the structure and function of the heart lead to an increase in hypertension. In the elderly, hypertension occurs more often. Symptoms of hypertension usually experience dizziness, frequent restlessness, easy melting and flashing eyes (Muhadi et al., 2022). Seeing this phenomenon, we are interested in conducting a study entitled Low Relationship Between Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Patients and Benson Relaxation Technique at Royal Prima Hospital Medan with a quantitative research method with Quasi Experiments Accidental Sampling, using a questionnaire, and 30 patients served as the sample size. The findings of both univariate and bivariate analysis, specifically the influance between Benson relaxation techniques and lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients, showed a significant influence between the two variables.
Amelia Agustina Sihombing Laura Adelina Br Sebayang Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-12 2025-08-12 7 2 44 50 Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Terjadinya Hipertensi di RSU Royal Prima Medan 2025 https://jurnal.unprimdn.ac.id/index.php/jukeprima/article/view/7502
Hypertension occurs when the pressure in the blood vessels is too high (140/90 mmHg or higher). The increasing number of cases indicates the importance of knowledge and awareness among patients in order to support effective prevention and treatment. This study was conducted to describe the level of patient knowledge regarding the prevention and treatment of hepatitis at RSU Royal Prima Medan in 2024. The research design used was descriptive, with a population of 100 patients and a sample of 50 patients. Data were collected to assess knowledge levels and categorized based on predetermined scoring criteria. The results showed that 28 respondents (56%) demonstrated a moderate level of knowledge, with scores ranging from 56% to 75%, while the remaining respondents were distributed between lower and higher categories. These findings suggest that although more than half of the patients have a sufficient understanding of hepatitis, there are still gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed. The study concludes that patient knowledge at RSU Royal Prima Medan is generally moderate, emphasizing the importance of continuous health education and counseling to enhance awareness, encourage preventive behavior, and support effective treatment efforts for hepatitis.
Pebrin Elida Barasa Kurniawati Putri Waruwu Ikhtiarni Dachi Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-19 2025-08-19 7 2 66 71 Pengaruh Latihan Kegel Exercise dan Delay Urination Terhadap Perubahan Inkontinensia Urin di RSU Royal Prima https://jurnal.unprimdn.ac.id/index.php/jukeprima/article/view/7522
The rapid demographic transition in Indonesia has led to an increase in the elderly population, accompanied by age-related health challenges, including urinary incontinence. Urinary incontinence in older adults can result from various physiological and pathological factors, such as decreased bladder muscle tone, diabetes mellitus, Parkinson’s disease, or other chronic conditions, and it significantly affects quality of life. This study aimed to examine the effect of Kegel exercises and delayed urination techniques on urinary incontinence among elderly patients. A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted at Royal Prima General Hospital Medan between May and June 2025. The study population consisted of 30 elderly individuals aged 60–74 years, selected using a saturation sampling approach. Data were collected through observation sheets and structured interviews, followed by measurement of urinary incontinence frequency before and after intervention. Univariate analysis was used to describe respondent characteristics, while bivariate analysis using a paired t-test assessed differences in urinary incontinence before and after treatment. Results indicated that prior to the intervention, 53.3% of respondents experienced severe incontinence, while after intervention, 66.7% reported mild to moderate incontinence. Statistical testing using the Shapiro–Wilk test revealed a significant difference, with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), confirming that Kegel exercises and delayed urination effectively reduced urinary incontinence among the elderly. In conclusion, implementing Kegel exercises and delayed urination techniques demonstrated significant benefits in managing urinary incontinence in older adults. These findings highlight the importance of non-pharmacological interventions to improve elderly health and quality of life.
Pretyka Dewi Copyright (c) 2025 Mitra Keperawatan dan Kebidanan Prima 2025-08-19 2025-08-19 7 2 57 65
