Abstract
The benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for babies include complete nutrition, increasing body power, increasing mental and emotional intelligence that is stable and spiritually mature followed by good social development, easily digested and absorbed, has a composition of fat, carbohydrates, calories, protein and vitamins, protection against infectious diseases, allergy protection because breast milk contains antibodies, stimulates intelligence and nerves, improves health and intelligence optimally. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of oxytocin massage on the smoothness of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers at the Dita Husada Tanjung Morawa Clinic in 2022. The research method used is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The population is all Postpartum Mothers as many as 31 respondents. The sampling technique is a total sampling technique for collecting questionnaire data. Data analysis uses the chi square distribution. Characteristics of Respondents Based on Oxytocin Massage That of the 31 respondents, the majority of respondents, 16 respondents (51.6%), and a minority of 15 respondents (48.4%) did not massage. The majority of respondents felt Smooth as many as 12 respondents (38.7%) and a minority of 9 respondents (29.0%) felt Smooth. Effect of Oxytocin Massage on the Flow of Breastfeeding in Postpartum Mothers That the majority of mothers had oxytocin massage, namely 16 respondents (51.6%) with Current as many as 9 respondents (56.2%) and. The minority of respondents who did not massage were 15 respondents (48.4%) and substandard were 8 respondents (53.3%). Based on statistical tests, it can be seen that there is a relationship between oxytocin massage and smooth breastfeeding with p = 0.035 (p <0.05).
