Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a deadly infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tb). The risk factors for pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) are family members who are the most vulnerable group of people to contracting pulmonary TB because it is difficult to avoid contact with sufferers. The result of community service is an increase in TB disease prevention and treatment education. The average knowledge competence from the health aspect is 82.5%, the average health process knowledge competence is 77.2%, the general knowledge competency is 72.5% and the health professional development knowledge competency is 78.4% on average. The conclusion of this activity is that there is cooperation in resources, namely: nurses with caregiver companion groups with puskesmas and health offices for program monitoring and evaluation. Suggestions from this activity are to increase the prevention of pulmonary TB in the elderly with pulmonary TB prevention training.
