The Influence of Chinese Variety Shows on Indonesian Students Studying Chinese in China

Abstract
This study examines the influence of Chinese variety shows on Indonesian students learning Chinese in China. It explores whether such programs play a significant role in language acquisition and identifies key influencing factors. First, the paper analyzes the dissemination of Chinese variety shows in Indonesia, including their distribution channels and popular genres, to provide a foundation for the study. Second, a questionnaire survey is conducted to investigate their impact on students’ Chinese learning. Based on the survey results and observations of selected programs, the study identifies major influencing factors. Finally, it offers suggestions on how Chinese variety shows can better support Indonesian students in learning Chinese.
