Abstract

The proliferation of cosmetic endorsements on social media has raised legal issues surrounding the distribution of products without distribution permits, which can be detrimental to consumers. This study aims to analyze consumer legal protection and the legal responsibilities of influencers in promoting illegal cosmetic products. The method used is normative juridical, with a statutory approach and literature studies as secondary data sources. The results indicate that although consumer protection regulations are in place, their implementation in endorsement practices is still suboptimal. Influencers can be held civilly liable for misleading information, while business actors remain primarily responsible for the product.
