Krisis Finansial dan Peran Gender dalam Film Home Sweet Loan (Kajian Postmodern Jean Baudrillard)

Abstract
This study aims to describe the representation of financial crises and their resolution, as well as the construction of gender roles in the film Home Sweet Loan. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data consisting of dialogues, narratives, and scenes related to financial crises and gender roles. Data were collected through the non-participatory observation technique, dialogue transcription, and literature review. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the representation of financial crises in the film is manifested through five indicators: consumerist lifestyles, debt and loans, loss of saving capacity, inability to fulfill routine obligations, and psychological pressure and domestic conflicts. Meanwhile, the construction of gender roles is represented through the division of domestic and public roles, gender-based division of labor, access to and control over resources, participation in decision-making, inequalities in power and social status, as well as stereotypes and social expectations. From Jean Baudrillard's postmodern perspective, these findings indicate the presence of simulation, simulacra, and hyperreality that shape the characters' understanding of economic stability, consumption practices, family relationships, and gender identity. Based on Tzvetan Todorov's narrative theory, the resolution of the financial crisis within the plot unfolds through the stages of recognition and repair toward the formation of a new equilibrium. Therefore, Home Sweet Loan represents financial crises not merely as economic problems but also as social and cultural constructions that influence consumption practices and gender relations in society.
