Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease with a high risk of occurrence complications. This is due to hyperglycemia due to reduced insulin production in the body and insulin resistance lead to complications in the form of other chronic non-communicable diseases that can cause death. Frequent complications There are two types of complications, namely macrovascular complications and microvascular complications. Microvascular complications include damage to the nervous system (neuropathy), damage to the kidney system (nephropathy) and damage to the eyes (retinopathy). Macrovascular complications include heart disease, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease (Rosyada, 2013). The method used in activities is to carry out empowerment. The community was formed through a number of activities, namely: coordinating with RT administrators, hamlets, and community leaders providing health empowerment on the benefits of foot exercise for diabetes, providing health education about the benefits of foot exercise for diabetics providing rewards for sufferers, giving door prizes after the activity, giving rewards for cadres. The results achieved after participating in activities and discussions patients know about what treatment should be done, what are the benefits of foot exercise for diabetes
