MELAKSANAKAN PEMBERDAYAAN PARA KADER TENTANG DETEKSI DINI DIABETES MELLITUS (DM) MELALUI PEMERIKSAAN GLUKOSA DARAH

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DM type 2) can cause various complications such as retinopathy, nephropathy, and cardiovascular disease. From the data obtained, as many as 75 percent of the people are obese (overweight) due to not doing sports activities, so the percentage value of blood sugar levels has increased and is at risk of developing Diabetes Mellitus. It happened in the Pancur Batu area and its surroundings. The role of cadres in this activity is an extension of health workers to deliver health education related to Diabetes Mellitus screening and how to overcome and prevent Diabetes Mellitus. The target of this activity is health cadres and the community with the method used, namely lectures and direct practice, by introducing the DM screening format to cadres accompanied by a question and answer session between cadres and community servants. This service activity is the response and responsiveness of cadres and the community in empowering type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Pancur Batu health center area. This activity received good enthusiasm from cadres and the community, marked by a good response from 6 cadres and 30 people suffering from Type 2 DM by motivating the community to control and prevent DM itself.
