Abstract

Routine breast examination can be done once a month a few days after menstruation, when the breasts are likely not to feel hard, enlarged and sore. For menopausal women choose a day that is easy to remember. For example, done every 1st or 30th of every month. If BSE has become a habit, over time we will recognize the structure of the breast itself so that if there is an abnormality we can immediately identify it. For those who are diligent in taking notes, the condition of the breasts each month can be recorded themselves. This can be a kind of record and map of breast condition every time.
Purpose: This program teaches participants how breast care is and what benefits can be obtained from this activity. Methods: The method used in the activity through stages, among others, is counseling / education, training and mentoring. Results: Early breast cancer prevention with breast care was protective and was practiced by the education participants. It is hoped that monitoring of women's health in the Helvetia puskesmas will be better because of how to monitor breast self-examination procedures. Increased knowledge of participants about nutrition and personal hygiene.
