GAMBARAN KLINIS PENDERITA RINOSINUSITIS KRONIS RAWAT INAP DI RSU SARI MUTIARA MEDAN TAHUN 2014

Abstract

Background: Sinusitis is a disease often found in medical practice every day, even considered as one of the causes of the most common health problems worldwide. Rhinosinusitis prevalence in Indonesia is quite high, according to data from the Department of Health of Indonesia in 2003 that the disease of the nose and sinus ranks 25 out of 50 rank first in disease patterns. Objective: This study aimed to determine the clinical features of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis patient care in RSU Sari Mutiara Medan 2014. Methods: This study is a retrospective descriptive with case study design. The population of the entire medical records of patients hospitalized in RSU Sari Mutiara Medan in 2014 many as 112 of data. Data taken by purposive sampling, which is the most complete medical record. Results:The most age group in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis aged 38-43 years many as 14 people (25%), sex majority many as male 34 people (60,7%), work the most as private employees many as 25 people (44,6% ). Clinical symptoms are most that nasal congestion, headache, and purulent discharge many as 18 people (32,1%). The layout of the most common is maxillary sinus  many as 50 people (89,3%). Pharmacological with combination cefadroxile,ketorolac and metronidazole many as 21 people (37,5%). And operative measures turbinectomy within antrostomy 32 people (57,1%). Conclussion: Expected to the government or medical personnel to perform rhinosinusitis disease control program, by way of socialization and counseling. So that more people care about health issues especially the nose and mouth.
