Abstract

Pendidikan di Indonesia terbagi menjadi tiga jenis yaitu pendidikan formal, pendidikan non formal dan pendidikan Informal. Jarak tempuh sekolah dengan tempat tinggal mempengaruhi tingkat pendidikan sekolah dasar dan menengah. Banyak masyarakat yang tidak melanjutkan sekolah dikarenakan jarak tempuh sekolah dengan tempat tinggal memiliki jarak tempuh yang sangat jauh. Peristiwa ini tentunya menurunkan tingkat indeks pendidikan di provinsi Jawa Barat dan meningkatkan angka kemiskinan. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan pengklusteran wilayah berdasarkan jumlah sekolah dasar dan menengah untuk menentukan indeks pendidikan di provinsi Jawa Barat menggunakan algoritma K-Means. Pengklasteran dilakukan untuk membagi kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Barat Menjadi tiga cluster yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan menengah berdasarkan jumlah sekolah dasar dan menengah pada provinsi Jawa Barat. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat 44% wilayah yang memiliki indeks pendidikan rendah, 37 % memiliki indeks pendidikan sedang, dan 19 % memiliki indeks pendidikan yang tinggi berdasarkan jumlah sekolah dasar menengah yng tersebar di seluruh kabupaten/kota pada provinsi Jawa Barat.
